The agreement, in plain words.
What you can expect from Bonjour Echo, and what we ask of you. Short on purpose.

What Bonjour Echo is
Bonjour Echo is a journal on the web and iOS that writes back: after you write, an AI model generates a short reflection on what you said. These terms are the agreement between you and Bonjour Echo (“we”) for using it. Our privacy page explains what happens to your data and is part of this agreement.
Your account
You need an email address or a Google account to sign in. Keep your sign-in method safe; anything written from your account is treated as yours. One person per account.
The trial and the subscription
Every account starts with 14 days free, counted from the day it was created. No card is needed for the trial. After 14 days, a subscription (“The Practice”) is required to write new entries and receive reflections. Entries you already wrote stay readable either way.
On the web, subscriptions are billed by Stripe monthly or annually and renew until you cancel from Manage subscription in your account menu. On iOS, subscriptions are billed by Apple and managed in your App Store settings; Apple’s terms apply to those purchases. The price is shown before you subscribe. If a price changes, we tell you before it applies to you.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel whenever you like. Your access continues to the end of the period you paid for, and you are not charged again.
For a charge made on the web, write to hello@bonjourecho.com within 30 days and we refund it. Refunds for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple under their policies.
Your words
What you write is yours. You give us permission to store it, process it, and send it to our AI provider, only as far as that is needed to run the service for you. We claim no other rights over it.
We work to keep your entries safe, but no service is immune to loss. Keep your own copy of anything you could not bear to lose.
Reflections are not advice
Reflections are generated by an AI model from the words you wrote. They can be wrong, and they can miss what matters. They are not therapy, counselling, or medical, legal, or financial advice, and they are not a substitute for a person who can help. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line now.
What you agree not to do
Use Bonjour Echo to break the law, to harm or harass anyone, or to write on behalf of someone under 16. Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or try to extract the model behind it.
Ending things
You can stop using Bonjour Echo at any time, and can ask us to delete your account and everything in it. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. If we ever discontinue the service, we give reasonable notice and you can ask for your entries first.
Disclaimers and liability
Bonjour Echo is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under the law where you live.
Changes and contact
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and we tell you if the change matters. Continuing to use Bonjour Echo after that means you accept the new terms. Questions go to hello@bonjourecho.com.
